Getting there depends on three things:

Above all, it depends on you.

WHO WE ARE
Democrats 101 Inc.
Democrats 101 Inc. is a 501(c)(4) non-profit corporation registered in the state of New York (USA). Our purpose is to articulate the basic values that we hold as Americans and as members of the Democratic Party. Through publications, education, and organized events, Democrats 101 Inc. is bringing those values to the forefront of the political narrative throughout the nation.

J.M. “Jim” Purvis
J.M. “Jim” Purvis is an author, educator, former journalist, and military veteran. He is also an American who cares deeply about his country and its future. Jim’s family roots are in small-town Indiana. Born in Ohio, Jim now lives in Brooklyn, New York. Jim has also spent years abroad in France, Sweden, and various parts of South America. He speaks fluent Spanish, a dash of French, and cooks with a dash of both.

Role of Democrats 101: A Primer for Us
Democrats 101 happened because of Jim’s concern over the vast changes underway in this country, the challenges it faces, and the role our party must play. This concern has been shared by the wide variety of Democrats who helped him with the writing, and then with the growing campaign to turn our party back to values. These same Democrats are from every wing, status, and philosophy of our party, and their ranks are growing. We face great challenges in the coming years. Democrats 101 will be there.

The year 2016 was the catalyst, a moment that led Jim to realize that America had arrived at a crossroads, a moral turning point much bigger than politics and elections, and that if we Democrats ... the only real party left ... don’t grasp that, the country is in trouble.

Jim waited patiently for someone else to write about it, to produce something in the vein of Common Sense, but no one did. And so Democrats 101 was born … Read the first chapter here!
