A New Year is upon us … and what a year! Most of us are still in shock, and January 21st hasn’t even happened yet! Well, ready or not, a staggering amount is about to befall us. It’s going to be a year with literally no precedent, so here are some New Year’s Resolutions to start you off with a shred of sanity.

Resolved!

• Be proud to be a Democrat … and know why!

• Understand our Common Thread and the Prime Directive. Read Democrats 101 and learn our origin story. Then spread the book, spread the message.

• Stand up for the Declaration of Independence, Do it publicly! Read those opening words again, understand why this document is the soul of our party, the very soul of our nation.

• Champion those same American values that are the heart of the Democratic Creed. Champion the definitions of Freedom, Justice, and Opportunity with your neighbors. Let them know these things are their rights!

• Dedicate the coming year to achieving a just society ... as long as it takes in your community. Live your beliefs. Be a standard bearer for Freedom, Justice, and Opportunity!

• A grassroots movement is underway. Join the growing community of rural counties that are standing together to shape the future, to create our universal Democratic identity. Adopt the Democratic Creed and everything that goes with it, and join in making this who we are.
